The hotel can book a taxi to take you to the airport, which you’ll need to ask for at reception. The taxi costs around £8.50 and be sure to ask the receptionist how long you’ll need to leave to make the journey in good time, especially if there’s traffic. When you return from your holiday, you’ll need to arrange a taxi from the airport back to the hotel to collect your car.

Alternatively, you can catch the train from nearby Crawley station to the rail station at Gatwick airport. The journey takes around eight minutes, and the railway station is approximately a five-minute walk from the hotel.

Breakfast is served between 6.45am and 9.30am on weekdays and 7.30am to 10am on weekends. You’ll find it in the Russell Suite, which is out towards the car park and to the left.

Breakfast in the Russell Suite comprises a hot and cold buffet that includes tea and coffee, cereals, yoghurt and fresh fruit. Dinner and lunch at Wusungdan and Giggling Squid are a veritable feast of Asian flavours: Wusungdan’s buffet features Chinese favourites such as sweet and sour chicken, shredded beef with chilli, Singapore noodles and mushrooms in oyster sauce. Meanwhile, dinner at Giggling Squid offers a classy menu that’s as chic as the décor. Sample sea bass, tom yum soup, the eponymous giggling squid (baby squid filled with minced chicken a deep fried) and desserts including ice cream to satisfy your sweet tooth.

The Ramada Crawley Gatwick is located near several main roads, so it’s easy to find. Plus, being right in the centre of the town, it’s accessible from more or less every direction.

  • Travelling by car, leave the M23 at junction 10 and take the first exit at the roundabout onto Crawley Lane (A2011).
  • Turn left at the second roundabout onto the A2219 (London Road) and go straight ahead at the next two roundabouts, continuing down the high street.
  • Go straight ahead at the final set of traffic lights and get into the left hand lane so that you can take the first exit at the next roundabout. This takes you into the hotel car park.

Crawley train station is only five minutes on foot from the hotel, so it’s best to get off there if you’re arriving by rail. You can also get off at Gatwick station, which is just eight minutes up the line from Crawley and a taxi ride from the hotel. The journey should cost around £8.50.
