All of the on-site venues at the Heathrow Thistle Hotel offer a contemporary and relaxed dining atmosphere. There’s also 24-hour room service available, which is ideal for guests who arrive very late or early in the day, those who’ve just missed a sitting at the restaurant, and anyone who prefers to dine in the privacy and luxury of their room.

The First Edition restaurant has amazing views of the runway at Terminal 5, giving you the chance to watch planes take off and land whilst you dine. Make your way there for breakfast between 6am and 9.30am (10.30am on weekends and Bank Holidays), and return between 6pm and 10pm for dinner. Choose the Best Sellers Bar for lighter snacks and liquid refreshments. It’s open from 6pm until the small hours every weeknight, with a far earlier opening time of 10.30am on the weekends. The dress code for both venues is ‘Smart Casual’, so don’t be afraid to dress for the occasion!

With a truly intriguing name and a menu to match, the Oak & Avocado Lounge is a spacious and comfy place to try a cocktail or afternoon tea. It’s open from 9am until 6pm on weekdays, serving food and drinks throughout the day.

Menu

Modern British and European cuisine dominates the menu at the First Edition, so you’re sure to find something that you fancy from the a la carte choice. Meat dishes, seafood, vegetarian options and delicious desserts – this restaurant has it all. Make sure you’re wearing something comfortable when you dine, as you’re bound to leave full and satisfied.

As well as a very decent range of wines and spirits, you can also select snacks and nibbles at the Best Sellers bar to accompany your drink. A couple of pints of the usual and a packet of pork scratchings, or some mixed nuts to nibble on with your Pinot Grigio? It’s entirely up to you.

Why not try some cucumber sandwiches and scones at the Oak & Avocado lounge? Their afternoon tea includes all of the traditional favourites, especially the choice of tea. If you’re after something a little stronger, take your pick from one of the many cocktails on offer.
