Breakfast is included in the price of your stay, so it’s worth trying the English or Continental selections if you’re up early. Treat yourself to a drink before bed in the spacious bar, or come back down for a nightcap – if the bar is closed when you arrive, the hotel staff will be happy to reopen for you. Parking at the Gatwick Acorn Lodge

Stay and park packages can be booked at the Acorn Lodge Gatwick, and spaces are available at both the hotel and the Acorn Lodge’s sister hotel, the Cambridge. Your car will be moved once you depart for your flight, for added security and your peace of mind. The secured gated car park at the Cambridge has 24 hour security, with day attendants and insured drivers to move and park your car for you.

Procedures

When you arrive at the Gatwick Acorn Lodge, park your car and check in. On your day of departure, you must check out by 11am. Simply leave your keys with the hotel, and they’ll take care of the rest. Your car will be moved from the Acorn Lodge hotel to the sister hotel, the Cambridge, which has a secured car park. The 24 hour shuttle bus, called to the Acorn Lodge at your request, will take you quickly to the airport in time for your flight. Upon your return, call the hotel to arrange your return shuttle, and your car will be brought to you.

Getting to and from Gatwick airport

The shuttle to the airport usually takes just 5 minutes (dependent on traffic), and is available on request 24 hours a day. The one-way charge to use the shuttle is £2 per person, and your return journey from the airport to the hotel is free. When you arrive back at Gatwick airport, simply call the hotel to arrange your transfer back – whether your flight is on time, early, or a bit later than expected, you won’t have long to wait for a bus.

Over-stay charges

The car park’s daily rate is £4 per day, payable directly to the hotel. If you park for additional days, these will be charged upon your return.

Dining and drinking at the Gatwick Acorn Lodge

Start your day with a choice of English or Continental breakfast, included in the price of your stay. Room service isn’t available, so you’ll need to make sure you get down to the restaurant before breakfast finishes at 9am. Continental breakfast begins at 6am, with English breakfast commencing at 7am.

Dinner is available at the hotel’s Melissa restaurant, serving delicious Mediterranean cuisine. The chef at the Acorn Lodge Gatwick prides himself on using only fresh, quality ingredients – no ready meals here! A good selection of wines is available at the restaurant, to complement whichever dish you choose, and the chef is always happy to recommend a vintage that will best accompany your meal.

At the Melissa restaurant, the extensive menu offers vegetarian dishes alongside a great selection of meat and seafood courses. With starters from £5 and main courses from £8, there’s something to suit everyone – and if you can’t quite decide, the £22 set menu offers 3 courses plus coffee. The restaurant is open to the public and can get very busy, especially for Sunday lunch. Children can enjoy a two course meal for £8.95, pairing a choice of main courses with the dessert of the day to suit younger diners.

Conveniently located near to the airport, M23, and Horley rail station, the Gatwick Acorn Lodge is easy to find and well served by public transport.

If you’re arriving by car, leave the M23 at junction 9 and follow signs for Gatwick.
At the first roundabout, take the second exit (signposted ‘South Terminal’) onto the A23 Airport Way.
At the second roundabout, take the fourth exit (signposted ‘North Terminal’ and ‘Redhill’). After appx. 150 yards, take the third exit at the roundabout, towards Longbridge.
When you reach the traffic lights, turn right onto Massetts Road. The Acorn Lodge hotel is on the corner, immediately on your right.

Horley rail station is just half a mile from the hotel, a convenient option for guests arriving by public transport. The station provides direct links to Gatwick airport and central London, with trains arriving regularly from Victoria station.
